Goldendoodle Puppies Introduction

Goldendoodle dogs are a crossbreed between a poodle and golden retriever. The cross is meant to produce a dog with mixed traits and the poodle’s signature non-shedding coat. It originated in North America in the late 1990’s. The crossbreeding can be done in several ways. The first method used is crossing a purebred poodle and a purebred golden retriever in what is referred to as First generation cross. Secondly, a goldendoodle can be crossbred with a poodle or golden retriever in what is known as Back-crossing. The other way to breed them is to breed a goldendoodle with another goldendoodle in what is called Multi-generation breeding. They all result in a breed that has the mixed traits of a golden retriever and a poodle dog.
